Officers and Representatives

 


 AMANDA PISETZNER: PRESIDENT
The President of Student Government is responsible for overseeing all the members’ positions in Student Government. In addition to running Student Government meetings, the President acts as a direct liaison between faculty, administration, and the Board of Trustees of Lafayette.

 


 JULIA STRANG: VICE PRESIDENT
The Vice President oversees all associate representatives, and students who sit on faculty committees. The Vice President also helps approve the representatives’ projects and interacts with the student body as well as the faculty to ensure that progress is made on campus.

 


 JEFF HARRINGTON: SECRETARY
The Secretary of Student Government is responsible for typing and distributing minutes from all Student Government meetings, as well as maintaining accurate files of all Student Government decisions, motions, actions, etc. The Secretary is in charge of sending the minutes to the proper constituencies.


 MAIRE NEWTON: TREASURER
The Treasurer of Student Government handles all financial components of Student Government and keeps a current ledger of accounts, in addition to assisting organizations with emergency allocations. The Treasurer oversees the Budget Committee, which is responsible for distribution of budgets to all organizations that Student Government recognizes.

 JENNIFER ROMANO: ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
The Academic Affairs representative is a member of the Joint Student/Faculty Curriculum Committee who works with the provost to address all academic issues brought to his/her attention by the student body.


 JOHNNY DOYLE: CAMPUS STUDENT SERVICES
The Campus Student Services representative handles all referrals, establishes needed programs, and makes recommendations to the following college services: Public Safety, Bailey Health Center, Counseling Center, College Mail Service, College Bookstore, and Plant Operations.

 


 STEVE GADOMSKI: COMMUNITY AFFAIRS
The Community Affairs representative is responsible for student-community relations and Lafayette-Easton community relations including helping to organize community outings within Student Government such as soup kitchens, Wellness Day, and Disability Awareness Day and remaining in close contact with the Landis Community Outreach Center.

 


 KIMBERLY PETRELIS: ELECTIONS
The Elections Chair is responsible for organizing, running, and supervising all the elections the Student Government agrees to run. The Elections Chair supervises elections for Student Government, class officers, the George Wharton Pepper Prize, and all other elections.


 FARINON STUDENT SERVICES
The Farinon Student Services representative is responsible for establishing a regular system of evaluation to make recommendations on all dining services on campus and oversees all student organization uses of Farinon College Center.

 RESIDENCE LIFE
The Residence Life Liaison is responsible for keeping in close contact with Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Council, and the Greek Adviser. The Residence Life Liaison keeps in touch with the students’ perceptions of the Greek system and updates Student Government about any changes made by administration.

 PUBLIC RELATIONS
The Public Relations Chair makes all the posters, flyers, banners, signs, etc, advertises all Student Government events and makes arrangements with student organizations, LAF, RAs, and other groups for program advertisement.

 STUDENT LIFE
The Student Life Chairs act as initiators and coordinators in the area of extracurricular and nonacademic activities. They are responsible for major social events such as pep rallies, as well as organizing focus groups. In addition, they serve as liaisons between Freshmen Class Council and Student Government, and as advisoes to FCC.

 STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS
The Student Organization Chair serves as a liaison between Student Government and all of the organizations that it recognizes, keeps in close contact with all club presidents, and maintains current files on all the clubs and organizations.


  MULTICULTURAL AFFAIRS
The Multicultural Affairs Chair works with all aspects of multiculturalism in Student Government and serves as a liaison between Student Government and all of the multicultural organizations. The Multicultural Chair strives to increase the visibility of diversity and multiculturalism on campus.
