I live for the next time Mike Pellegrino BlogsSubmitted by lajtermc on March 2, 2008 - 11:08pm.
I'm pissed. I wrote this great blog on Friday in response to Mike's and now I find it was never posted! So in my sad attempt to re-create, here goes nothing: I completely agree with Mike Pellegrino-Face (notice the "Face", Mike) that our school does not have enough choices of good food- if any. I too am sick of eating a sandwich for lunch and even sometimes dinner. I occasionally have to plan my day out because when I would like to have a sandwich for lunch I realize that a sandwich for dinner may be the only game in town. And even if I do actually have the craving for a Farinon sandwich, it's "open-faced". Since when have open-faced sandwiches become the popular innovation, at least for the sandwich master-minds behind the food court counter, that is. The open-faced sandwich basically permits my sandwich to puke all of its contents up on its paper wrapping before I even open it! All of the turkey is on one side and the lettuce and mustard might as well be their own sandwich since they are nowhere near the two measly pieces of turkey! --I'm realizing how I use this blog to vent on Lafayette's fantastic food choices (of course cynically speaking). --- Moving on to Gilbert's there is absolutely nothing there other than greasy everything and even if you try to stray from the awfully unhealthy meals, a veggie burger won't even suffice (apparently, from Gilbert's these are not healthy either!). Okay, maybe I am being a bit harsh; there is always the signature salad. - But wait, forty-five minutes later I finally get that salad and guess what? I AM STARVING. This salad will not be enough and I am urged to steal some of my friend's fries since her serving was so big she can hardly finish it. The vicious cycle of mediocre food choices has me yearning for the next time I get to have dinner off campus. As Mike had made clear, I have also realized I enjoy my mom's homemade meals more than ever when I'm at school, going out to a restaurant does not have the same effect as it did in high school, but then again, anything beats the monotony of campus food!
