ME 352: Dynamics of Physical Systems and Electrical Circuits

Mathcad Tutorials

I have written Mathcad Tutorials which can be downloaded from the links below.  The introductory tutorial will be useful to any new Mathcad user.  Tutorials 2 and 3 deal with techniques somewhat specific to ME 352.  Tutorial 4 presents the state-space method, introduced in ME 352 and used in ME 479.  Tutorials 5 and 6 use data from ME 479: Dynamic Systems, Control Systems and Mechatronics Laboratory as illustrations.Tutorials 8, 9, and 10 Mathcad version 2001i and are intended for ME 352 and ME 479.

IMPORTANT !!

Computing Services has never found the time to configure Lafayette's server to handle "Mime" type extensions for most file downloads.  The server will download files with the extension ".exe".  Consequently, the Mathcad worksheet files linked below have been given ".exe" extension.

The tutorial files must be renamed with ".mcd" extensions before opening them in Mathcad.  Rename a downloaded file in the "Save To" dialog box.

If you forget to rename the file when you download it, you can rename later using Windows Explorer, but you must first display the file's extension.  A file's extension is displayed with the following Windows Explorer options:  View, Options, Deselect "Hide MS-DOS extensions for file types that are registered".
