Garibaldi Avenue. The structure was built in 1893 and the face was remodeled
in 1923 with native stone. Romanesque in style, the church as a gorgeous rose
colored window and baroque interior. The numerous sacred objects and
ornaments on the altar and the many statues of the Virgin Mary and Saints give
it an unmistakable Italian character. The Presbyterian Church, also built on
Garibaldi in 1893 and continuously served by Italian Pastors until 1953, displays
an architectural style typical of most American Protestant Churches, both inside
and outside.

SPECIAL FUNCTIONS/ITEMS OF INTEREST
- The third week of July marks the annual celebration of Our Lady of Mount
Carmel-otherwise known as The Big Time. This festival is a day of eating,
drinking and homecoming for many Rosetans who moved away for job related
causes. In its hey day the festival drew crowds by the thousands who would
gather from far and wide to watch things like men getting shot from cannons.
Today, those in attendance need not fear cannon fire and falling acrobats- the
sublime food and merriment are all it takes to keep revelers entertained.
