  • Public Safety: Located on the ground floor of Marquis Hall, the Public Safety Office is responsible for around-the-clock protection on the Lafayette campus. For more information visit the Public Safety website.

  • S.A.C.E. Coordinator: The College's Sexual Assault Counseling and Education (SACE) Coordinator is available 24 hours a day as a resource for students who have been sexually assaulted or who want to help a friend.   • Counseling Center: The Counseling Center provides consultation to all members of the Lafayette community on matters related to student development, psychological and behavioral health, and crisis intervention. Counseling is confidential. No information about contacts with the center may be released without a student’s permission, except in cases in which a student is a danger to self or others. Students may make an appointment by calling (610) 330-5005, Monday through Friday. All services are free of charge.
  • Health Center: The Health Center provides a variety of medical services to students. Students may make an appointment to see a physician or nurse by calling (610) 330-5001. The Health Center is open Monday through Friday from 8am - 5pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 11am - 3pm.

Emergencies: No matter what time of the day or night, there are always College employees on call and ready to help you in any emergency situation. The Office of Public Safety is open 24 hours/day and will assess and coordinate the appropriate response for any type of emergency. All students should know the Public Safety emergency number (x4444).

During the day, the Health Center (x 5001) and Counseling Center (x5005) are available to respond to urgent student health issues. After-hours/weekend emergencies should be reported directly to Public Safety. Resident Advisors are also trained to respond to emergency situations. In the residence halls, RAs are on duty every night.

Emergency telephones: Residence hall exterior convenience/emergency telephones have been installed on selected exterior entrances to residence halls. Each phone has a red emergency button which, when activated, will dial the Office of Public Safety. Additional units mounted on posts have been installed at various campus locations.

Fire Detection & Suppresion: Smoke detectors and sprinkler systems are installed in all student rooms, hallways and public areas, in accordance with state building codes. Please read the Fire Safety brochure for important policies & procedures.

Insurance: The College assumes no responsibility for loss of or damge to personal property. Therefore, to insure the safety of their personal items, students should verify that coverage is provided under the family’s homeowner’s policy or contact an insurance agent concerning protection against such losses.

Residence Hall Access: All residence halls are locked 24 hours/day, accessible via electronic checkpoint tags. Campus residents have cross-visitation checkpoint access to traditional residence halls between 7am - 10pm. Students should not grant entry to non-residents and are urged to report any suspicious individuals/activity to Public Safety.

Resident Advisor Duty: Every night, between 10pm - 7am, each building has a designated on-duty RA. The duty RA is available to respond to emergencies, report problems, and answer questions. S/he conducts periodic building rounds. To contact the duty RA, consult the Duty Schedule posted in each residence hall.

Sales and solicitation: To insure students’ safety and privacy, the College has strict guidelines governing promotions or sales on campus. All solicitation must be approved by the Office of the Dean of Students. Door-to-door solicitation should be reported to the Office of Residence Life immediately.
