Alpha Phi Philanthropy

Philanthropy

With all money raised being donated to the understanding and development of cardiac care, the chapters of Alpha Phi throughout the United States are highly motivated to organize fundraisers for their philanthropy.

At Lafayette College, the Eta Sigma chapter participates in the annual “Trip to Anywhere” raffle in the spring, in which tickets are sold the winner of the drawing receives a $500.00 voucher to any desired destination and the Powder Puff football game in the fall, where teams are comprised of seven individuals and compete in a flag-football tournament. The winner receives donated gift certificates from numerous organizations near Lafayette College campus. Further, to intensify school spirit for the Lafayette versus Lehigh football every fall, the members of Alpha Phi sell t-shirts boasting Lafayette’s superiority. All of the money raised from these events is sent to The Alpha Phi Foundation, supporting cardiac care.

Throughout the semester, the sisters of Alpha Phi are also willing to participate in events sponsored by other organizations on campus, such as Dance Marathon and the Eggstravaganza, an Easter event for children.

Our local service project includes visiting St. Anthony’s Youth Center, located in downtown Easton, which provides a sanctuary for children that cannot go home immediately after school because their parents are still at work. We spend a few hours each week playing kickball, dodgeball, basketball, or making crafts with the children.
