Japanese Floor

Mission statement:
The goal of the Japanese floor is to bring together Lafayette students from different backgrounds and cultures who share a common interest in Japanese culture. The group strives to promote an understanding of Japan and its civilization as well as to enhance the mutual understanding between Western and Eastern cultures in general.

Description:
Located in Keefe Hall 2nd floor with the French floor and the German floor, JIF residents benefit from a diverse living environment. As JIF is both a residential group but also recognized as a student organization, the activities range from floor programs to campus-wide events. Past events include the co-sponsored presentation on Taiko, Japanese drum with the Department of Music in Spring 2006, sushi nights, joint floor programs with other culture residential groups, karaoke and DDR nights, Judo 101, history talks with Professor Paul Barclay.

Both residents and non-residents are welcome to floor programs.
