2008-09 Winter Inter-Session Housing

When is the Winter Inter-Session?

The period between the close of the Fall semester on Tuesday, December 16 , 2008 and the opening of the Interim Session on Friday, January 2, 2009 is considered the Winter Inter-Session. During this period the residence halls are "closed" with the exception of the small number of students who need to remain on campus.

Who would be approved to reside on campus during this period?

Inter-session housing is provided only for the men's and women's basketball teams and students for whom the distance from their home of record necessitates continued residency on campus.

How do I request Winter Inter-session housing?

You must submit an on-line request to the Office of Residence Life.  Note that this request must be submitted in addition to your Interim Housing request.

The deadline to request Winter Inter-session Housing was Friday, November 21st. To inquire about the availability of housing during this period, please email Residence Life.

What buildings are open during the Inter-Session?

Due to low occupancy levels during this period, Winter Inter-session housing is provided only in Kamine Hall. Regular residents of Kamine will vacate their rooms at the end of the Fall semester in order to accomodate Winter Inter-session occupants during this approximately two week period.

Watson Courts and College-owned off-campus apartments that will contain at least two occupants may also be approved for occupancy during this period.

Do I have to live in Kamine for the Interim Session, too?

No. At the conclusion of Winter Inter-Session, you may move to your Interim assignment that is either in your regular room (if you regularly in a building that is open for Interim) or in a friend's room in one of the open buildings. [See Interim Housing information regarding Special Request Forms]

When can I move into my regular Interim assignment?

The morning of Friday, January 2, 2009.

When I will I receive my Winter Inter-session room assignment?

Provided you register by the November 21st priority deadline, you will receive you room assignment, key and checkpoint access information, and move-in instructions in early December.

What campus services are available during the Winter Inter-session?

Dining hours & services, mailroom access, and availability of most College departments is quite limited during this period. The College is officially closed on the following week dates: December 24 - 26 and January 1. However, Public Safety remains open and officers are available to assist 24/7 through this period.
