John Patrick Colatch, D.Min.

JohnThe Rev. Dr. John Patrick Colatch is the Director of Religious Life and Chaplain of the College. He is an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church and has served in ministry in higher education since 1986. He holds a BA from W. Va. Wesleyan College, M.Div from Duke Divinity School, MS Ed in Pastoral Counseling from Duquesne University and D.Min in Transformative Leadership from Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School. He is a past president of the National Association of College and University Chaplains. He oversees the Religious Life program of the college, serves as a Director in the Student Life Division, is on the Professional Staff of the Landis Center for Community Outreach and teaches occasionally in the Religious Studies Dept.and the First Year Seminar program. His areas of academic interest and expertise include matters relating faith to social justice, faith and sexual oreintation, interfaith concerns and bereavement issues and care at the end of life. He advises the Interfaith Council and Sojourners Christian Fellowship, leads a Bible study for first-year students and the Sunday ecumenical chapel service, coordinates the Covenant Discipleship program and counsels students regarding spiritual, as well as personal issues. Charles Norman, PhD.,OSD

CharlesThe Rev. Fr. Charles J. Norman is a priest of the Congregation of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales and serves as Catholic Chaplain at Lafayette. Father Norman studied Theology for ordination with the Oblates.  He received a BA and a MA from Niagara University in English and Education; he earned a PhD in English from Lehigh University, editing an edition of Thomas Paine’s Crisis Papers while a fellow of the Gipson Institute for Eighteenth Century Studies. He has held assistant professorships at Lehigh, De Sales, and La Salle universities and Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture.  He was appointed Director of Student Field Placements in the department of Education for La Salle before taking up his current position in Catholic campus ministry for the Diocese of Allentown, where he has ministered at both Moravian and Lafayette colleges.  Father Charles advises Newman, conducts Catholic Mass on campus and serves as a spiritual advisor to the Catholic community at Lafayette.



Robert I. Weiner, PhD.

RobertProfessor Robert I.Weiner is Thomas Roy and Lura Forrest Jones Professor of History and also serves as Jewish Chaplain at Lafayette.He received his BA from Temple University, and his MA and PhD degrees from Rutgers University. His special academic interests include Europe, diplomatic history and Jewish history. He is a five-time recipient of the Student Government Superior Teaching Award, and has also receivedthe Marquis Distinguished Teaching Award and the Daniel Golden Faculty Service Award. He describes himself as one who hugs his students and who loves his work. He serves as advisor to Hillel, coordinates Jewish religious observances on campus and serves as a spiritual advisor to the Jewish community at Lafayette.


Tammy Yeakel

TammyTammy Yeakel is Secretary in the Office of Religious Life.  Tammy, a native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, resides in Bethlehem with her husband, Eric, who attends Moravian Theological Seminary.  Tammy has two young children, Eric and Anna.  She loves spending time with family, traveling, and reading.  Tammy is delighted to be a part of Lafayette College!
