Lafayette offers 30-35 sports clubs ranging from ice hockey and crew to wrestling and ultimate frisbee. These student-run groups are provided a budget by Student Government each year. Many have a faculty member or administrator as an adviser.

The College offers leadership training opportunities and advising on financial and other matters of interest through the Student Activities office and Recreation Services department. To organize a new club, students have to prepare a constitution and provide a roster of 20 or more names of interested participants to the Student Organization Committee of Student Government.
