Fred Smith’s Concrete Park - Horses
Phillips, Wisconsin
Fred Smith’s concrete sculptures are built on armatures of wood wrapped with barbed wire. The wet concrete is studded with broken glass and, later, decorated with paint.
The skulls, teeth, and antlers of animals are incorporated into the statues, as well, giving a creepy verisimilitude to images of horses and deer.
