- Wolfram Research WRI's WWW server provides general information about Mathematica and associated products.
Wolfram also maintains the Mathematica Information Center site--a cornucopia of Mathematica applications
(including The Lafayette Calculus Laboratories!).
- The Guide to Available Mathematical Software, GAMS. A site maintained the National Institute for Standards and Technology that allows
searches of several public and commercial collections of scientific software, including
the exhaustive collection of public-domain software maintained by the netlib network.
- Xavier University's Department of Mathematics and Computer Science has a cool page called Careers in Mathematics
- If your career aspirations aren't inclued on the Xavier list, check out Steve Buyske's list of Famous Nonmathematicians that lists notable math majors who have gone on to other fields for great achievements.
- A web site full of fun mathematical facts maintained by the Mathematics Department of Harvey Mudd College.
- Blue Sky Research publishes a TeX implementation for the Macintosh, but their ftp server has lots of
good stuff for any TeX'er. They maintain a page of links to lots
of TeX resources available over the World Wide Web.
- The Electronic
Journal of Undergraduate Mathematics describes itself as "a wholly on-line forum dedicated to improving the state of undergraduate mathematics research. Papers by undergraduate mathematics students are available in a variety of formats, and submissions are welcome."
- Electronic Journal of Differential Equations An electronic journal based at Southwest Texas University and the University of North Texas.
- Calculus Graphics A collection of Mathematica animations developed by Doug Arnold at Penn State for
Calculus demonstrations. Some of them look pretty cool.
- MacTutor History of Mathematics Archive Biographies of important mathematicians.
- Women in Mathematics Biographies of important mathematicians.
- FermiLab Education Programs The Fermi National Atomic Laboratories have a home page dedicated to resources for
education in the sciences and mathematics from kindergarten through post-graduate.
