recycling on campus
last updated August 19, 2005
what gets recycled and where?
|
Aluminum and tin cans
Glass jars and bottles
(clear, brown, green)
Plastics #1 and #2
(PETE and HDPE) |
Many academic and administrative buildings |
Caution: Recycle bins for these items often look similar to trash cans. We are hoping to get this changed. |
| Newspaper |
Farinon, Gilbert's, other locations |
|
| Mixed office paper |
Farinon mail room |
Not recycled here: cardboard, newspapers, magazines/glossy paper. A noticeable presence of these items will cause the entire recycle bin to get trashed instead of recycled. |
| White office paper |
Skillman Library, the tunnel between Hugel and Kunkel Halls, most computer labs and copy rooms in AEC, some computer labs and copy rooms elsewhere, some locations in Farinon |
Not recycled here: colored paper, and everything else noted above. White paper only. |
| Corrugated cardboard |
Farinon and Marquis food service areas |
Not recycled: boxes that are wax coated or have oil on them, including pizza boxes |
