(600 Block of Parsons Street, 3-6 p.m.)

This pre-game event showcases numerous Lafayette performing and
visual artists. Student organizations operate tables with interactive arts-themed activities that reflect their clubs' personalities. Come celebrate the artistic diversity of Lafayette's campus!

Price: FREE meal with Lafayette student ID (cash sale of food for all others)

The ISA will be having a booth on Parsons Street that showcases the
wonderful art of Henna hand-painting. Those of you who wish to volunteer to man the booth, please contact Kemi.

 

September 13, 2008 (Saturday) - Family Weekend
(Farinon Atrium, 12:30 p.m.)

The ISA is organizing activities for the Family Weekend, including
‘Curry Delights’ and ‘Clothes From Around The World’. Curry Delights is a courtesy of Lafayette Dining Services.

The ISA needs your contribution for 'Clothes From Around The World' in terms of traditional costumes from your country or region. Any costume of any size will be appreciated since it will cater to a wider range of tastes and preferences. If you have something to contribute, please contact Kemi.

Welcome Back all ISA members! Before the semester becomes more intense, the ISA would like to invite all of you to a party in the Spot with DJ Kbreezy. So bring your friends along and move to a mix of popular tunes as well as international music!

 

September 28, 2008 (Sunday)- 2nd General Meeting
(Keefe Commons, 5-7 p.m.)

Come for ISA's second general meeting to hear more about the activities that the ISA will have for the semester! Food will be provided!

 

October 4-7, 2008 - Fall Break

For members who are staying during the break, the ISA is organizing a few events to bring the Fall Break spirit to campus. Some of the activities we might have include ice skating, mini golf, bowling or movie night (to a cinema). The events will be subsidized by the ISA. Please contact Martin if you have any preference on any of these activities or suggestions on other activities.

 

October 11, 2008 (Saturday) - Burlington Coat Trip

For those of you who are thinking of stocking clothes in preparation for the hostile winter temperature, this trip is for you! A non-refundable deposit of $5 is needed. The sign-ups for freshmen will start on Sunday, September 14th, and the upperclassmen are allowed to sign-up a week later on Saturday midnight. There are approximately 48 seats available on the bus. To sign-up, please make your payment to Kelly Deemer in the Office of Student Life Programs in Farinon Student Center.

October 19, 2008 (Sunday) - Farm Trip
(3-6 p.m.)

ISA is organizing a trip to a local farm where members get to pick fresh fruits of choice for own consumption, all with no charge! Freshmen will be given preference for the trip, but everybody is encouraged to sign up! There will be no deposit but it is paramount that members who have signed up do participate because food will be provided based on the number of people who sign up. October 24, 2008 (Friday) - March Around the World

Share your culture with the children of March Elementary School through crafts, music/dancing and language games.  If interested, please contact Janine Block

 

October 30, 2008 (Thursday) - ISA Halloween Party
(Farinon Atrium, 10 p.m. - 2 a.m.)

The first Halloween party on campus. Its better to start early than late, so put on your halloween costumes and come party with us!

October 31, 2008 (Friday) - AGD Trick-or-Treat on the Hill
(The Quad, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.)

Alpha Gamma Delta (AGD) invited the ISA to take part in its 'Trick-or-Treat on the Hill' event. The ISA will be setting up a table during the event and organize character writing in foreign language for the children from the Easton area who will participate. November 1, 2008 (Saturday) - Interclass Olympics
(APK Sports Center, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)

Initiated in 2006, Interclass Olympics has become a tradition in the ISA community. The events that are contested include volleyball, soccer, badminton, table-tennis, tug-of-war, and pool (billiards). This year, a class captain is appointed for each class to help coordinate the class effort. If you have any questions, feel free to contact our beloved sports coordinator, Farai.

November 8, 2008 (Saturday) - DMV Trip
(In front of WAC, 10 a.m.)

A trip to the Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) will give you an opportunity to apply for a Pennsylvania State ID and/or a Driver's Permit. If you are interested, please sign up with one of our peer advisors, Long, Chinh or Pooja. The trip will be held on November 8th. Stay tune for more information. November 8, 2008 (Saturday) - Lehigh-Lafayette ISA Social
(Lehigh University)

Lehigh's Association of International Students (AIS) has kindly invited ISA members for a social event that will include a dance party among others. It will be the pioneer event that marks a new episode of alliance and goodwill between the two international student groups. Please support the event with your participation.

Wrist bands will be distributed for those over 21 years old. The party will be held in 'Club Elements' and ISA members can sign up for no charge. Sign-up sheet will be circulated during the 3rd general meeting and the week before that. A $5 charge per person will be collected to cover transportation fee. To sign up please send an e-mail to the ISA e-mail account isaboardisa@gmail.com with the note "yes I want to go and I am under/over 21". The $5 dollars will be collected the night of the event as people board the bus.

ISA is hosting our traditional Formal. It will be a lot of fun with good food and good music! There'll be a bar for people over 21 and transportation is provided for all! A night for you to remember.

November 17-21, 2008 - International Education Week

International Education Week (IEW) is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. It is a week filled with stimulating lectures by students and professors, as well as fun games such as International Jeopardy. Learn more about this week at the IEW website here

This year's International Education Week will feature a party on campus where international students from Lehigh will be invited to join.

Come celebrate Valentine's in Style, with a grand ISA Welcome Back Party! Lots of great restaurant gift cards to be won to take that special someone for a spectacular Valentine's dinner!  Free flower give-away on Wednesday and Thursday lunchtime.

March 14-22, 2009 - Spring Break

A spring break trip is currently being planned for members of ISA who are interested in participating. The destination is the sunny MIAMI in South Beach. This lovely trip is only $270 (make checks payable to Lafayette College ISA) and this includes lodging, airfare and transport to and from airports. If you have any suggestion or if you are interested, please contact Atu.

 

March 23-28, 2009 - Extravaganza

Extravaganza is a cultural festival hosted by ISA. It is a week-long festival which begins with every region holding full-day events each day. The festival ends with a grand finale that takes place on the Saturday of that weekend. It is also the biggest cultural event that takes place at Lafayette College in an academic year.
