EASTON AND LOCAL COMMUNITY

Lafayette is located on a hill just above Easton, a multiethnic community recently named one of the 100 best small art towns in the United States. A set of steps leads down from the campus to the Williams Visual Arts Building and into downtown, about a ten-minute walk.

The picturesque historic district around the central square features specialty shops, restaurants, cafes, art galleries, craft boutiques, and a number of hairdressers specializing in African American styles.

The bus terminal is served by Trans-Bridge, Susquehanna Trailways, and Greyhound. Students can take a bus into New York or Philadelphia every day. They can also take a bus to airports in either city. LANTA is the local bus system; a stop at the edge of campus is on a route that goes to Lehigh Valley Mall and into Allentown.

Allentown and Bethlehem, within 20 minutes of the college, both have large Latino communities. The Lehigh Valley has a nightly Spanish television newscast and a weekly Spanish newspaper.

Students who are interested in Sunday worship services are welcome at any of the nearby churches, including several identified with the African American community:

 Shiloh Baptist
 Union African Methodist Episcopal
 Second Baptist

The college will make arrangements for a school van to take students to one of the churches with sufficient notice and several faculty who attend the churches themselves have offered to give rides to students. Please contact the Office of Religious Life, (610) 330-5320.
