Hartford Supplemental Life Insurance
Supplemental life insurance is a benefit available for all full-time regular employees (not including temporary employees, visiting faculty, or interns). You may elect to purchase additional life insurance in increments of 10,000 up to three times your gross base annual pay to a maximum of 200,000. This coverage may be purchased on a post-tax basis, and will begin on the first day of the month coincident with or next following the month in which your employment commences. If you are an employee who is a member of the union, this coverage will begin on the first day of the month coincident with or next following the date you complete three months of continuous service. The employee pays the premium. Within thirty-one days following termination of employment, an insured employee may convert all or part of his/her life insurance to an individual policy without the need for a medical examination.
