Eligibility

All retired employees are eligible to continue their medical coverage under the Program following retirement. For this purpose, the term "retired employee" shall mean an employee who
  • is formally retired at age 55 or over in accordance with the retirement policies of the College,

Eligible participants include the retiree and his/her eligible dependents at the time of retirement. In addition, the surviving spouse and eligible dependents of an employee who dies while employed by the College and who has fulfilled the requirements for retirement stated above may continue to participate in the Program on the same basis as an enrolled retiree during the lifetime of the surviving spouse or until he/she remarries or until a dependent no longer meets the definition of dependent under the Program, as applicable.

In the case of enrolled retirees, at the death of the retiree the surviving spouse and eligible dependents may continue to participate in the Program on the same basis as an enrolled retiree during the lifetime of the surviving spouse or until he/she remarries or until a dependent no longer meets the definition of dependent under the Program, as applicable.
