Hartford Basic Life Insurance

The College provides a basic life insurance policy underwritten by The Hartford, which covers all full-time regular employees (not including temporary employees, visiting faculty, and interns) without contribution on the part of the employee. The policy provides eligible employees with life insurance effective the first day of the month coincident with or next following the month in which your employment commences. If you are an employee who is a member of the union, this coverage will begin on the first day of the month coincident with or next following the date you complete three months of continuous service. Within thirty-one days following termination of employment, an insured employee may convert all or part of his/her life insurance under basic life plan to an individual policy without the need for a medical examination.
