A.B. GEOLOGY DEGREE

  • Two 100-level geology courses, one from each of the following course lists:
    • Physical Geology courses (100, 110, 120, 160)
    • Earth History courses (115, 130, 160)
  • Geology 200 (Earth and Planetary Materials)
  • Six additional Geology courses at least five of which are 200-level or above

  • Math 125-186 or 161-186 or 161-162
  • Chemistry 121-122 or Chem. 121 and Geol. 321
  • Physics 111 or 113
  • Two 100-level geology courses, one from each of the following course lists:
    • Physical Geology courses (100, 110, 120, 160)
    • Earth History courses (115, 130, 160)
  • Geol. 200 (Earth and Planetary Materials)
  • Geol. 215 (Modern and Ancient Depositional Systems)
  • Geol. 300 (Earth Surface Processes)
  • Geol. 307 (Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology)
  • Geol. 317 (Structure and Tectonics of the Earth)
  • Either:
    • Geol. 205 (Oceanorgaphy) or
    • Geol. 315 (Paleoclimate and Paleoceanography)
  • Three techinical electives approved by the Department, at least one of the electives must be geology courses 200-level or above.

  • Geol. 317 (Structure and Tectonics of the Earth)
  • Geol. 322 (Environmental Geophysics)
  • Either:
    • Geol. 205 (Oceanorgaphy) or
    • Geol. 315 (Paleoclimate and Paleoceanography)
  • One environmental elective approved by the Department
