Junior Emily Mallory had a great showing at IHSA Nationals, placing 4th in her competitive Individual Open Fences class on May 8th. Congratulations on a great performance!
2008 IHSA NATIONALS
2008 ZONE 3 FINALS
LCET had a very successful showing at Zones. The day started off with junior chemical engineering major Emily Mallory winning the Individual Open Fences class, qualifying for Nationals in California in May. Next sophomore Katy Cording finished 4th in individual Intermediate Fences after a very good round, capping off a great first year on the team. After the fences classes were finished, freshman Christina Chen rode to a 5th place finish in walk trot canter. Finally, team MVP on the flat senior Emily Hanson finished 4th in a very competitive Intermediate Flat class. To cap off a very successful day, captain Katie McDonough won the Joan Johnson Zone 3 Leadership Scholarship. Congratulations to all and best of luck to Emily Mallory at Nationals!
2008 ZONE 3 REGION 4 REGIONALS
LCET had a very successful Regionals, having 12 riders competing in 13 classes. Four LCET riders qualified for the Zone Finals on April 13th. Emily Mallory was reserve champion in Open Fences, and Katy Cording matched that placing in Intermediate Fences. Emily Hanson was named regional champion in Intermediate Flat, and Christina Chen also won the regional champion title for Walk Trot Canter. However many other LCET riders were very successful at Regionals. Also, captain Katie McDonough was named Zone 3 Region 4 Captain of the Year at the regional banquet. Congratulations to all on a great year.

LCET is off to a great start in the fall of 2008. So far this season we have had Kristen Greaney qualify for regionals in Novice Flat, with several other team members very close to qualifying. Our team is also standing in first place by 26 points going into the spring semester.
We have been high point team at two shows so far this year. Freshman Kelsey Work was named Reserve High Point Rider at the Alumni show. We are very excited to see what the rest of the season has in store for us!
FALL SEMESTER 2008
With a grand total of 305 points, LCET is the Zone 3 Region 4 Champions for 2009! Every member of the team has contributed to this great success, and for the first time in history LCET is sending a team to compete at Zones on April 5th! Also, Emily Esteve, Amanda Berger, Emily Mallory, Kristen Greaney, Hannah Frank, Jess Grabowski, and Michela Torchio have qualified to compete at Regionals. Best of Luck!

In April 2009 the Lafayette College Equestrian Team traveled to Murfreesboro, TN for the 2009 IHSA National Championship. After three days of competition, the team finished 8th out of 18 schools in their team debut at Nationals! The highlight of the trip was freshman Kelsey Work's win in Team Novice Fences, becoming the first Lafayette rider to ever win a class at Nationals.
