Delta Upsilon, "The Gentleman's Fraternity", is proud to be the only non-secret, non-hazing fraternity in existence. Our brothers have shown that the bonds of brotherhood are forged not through secrecy and hazing, but through a common belief in our guiding principles and the experiences we all share. In accordance with this principle, we will answer any questions you or your parents may have about DU.
Delta Upsilon was founded in 1834 at Williams College to provide outstanding men with an alternative to the secret societies of the time. Over the past 166 years, DU has grown tremendously, today boasting over 80 chapters in the United States and Canada, and over 100,000 initiated brothers.
College should be the best four years of your life. As a brother of Delta Upsilon, they will be. You will share these years with the best friends you will ever have, and this will be the most exciting group you will ever be a part of. That is why you should join DU.
Delta Upsilon is also the most active fraternity here at Lafayette College. We sponsor and participate in a wide variety of programming including brotherhood, social, philanthropic, academic, and athletic events. They enrich our brothers' college experience and improve the community around us. DU will definitely make you a better person. That is why you should join DU.
