Legal Professions Advising
The mission of the Legal Professions Program is to provide guidance and resources to students and alumni so that they can make informed choices about whether and how to pursue a career in law. The Program encourages students at all class levels to engage with members of the faculty to explore their interests in legal issues and/or a career in law. Working closely with faculty, alumni, and Career Services, the Office of the Dean of College provides comprehensive programming designed to help students learn about legal issues and legal careers, as well as how to prepare for and apply to law school (see How Do I Find Out More?)
Students are encouraged to register as early in their college experience as possible to receive program announcements via email with Karen Clemence, senior associate dean of the college. Students also should participate in the Career Services Gateway Program which provides relevant internships and externships.
The Northeast Association of Pre-Law Advisors (NAPLA)
NAPLA provides a Pre-Law Guide for those considering the legal profession, for undergraduates preparing for legal study, and for candidates applying to law school.
