TA DA!!!!!

The real history of Cadence has arrived!!! Missey Labov Dweck ('93) and Jody Forester ('93) were part of a mixed-voice a cappella group called "8 Days To Midnight" during their freshman year. However, the mixed group disbanded by the end of the year. So, in their sophomore year (1990), Missey and Jody became the founding members of Cadence. The group is a happy, healthy 15 year old - *Insert Britney Spears singing on a cliff in almost no clothing: "I'm not a girl, not yet a woman"* - just transitioning out of training bras, braces, and awkward middle school dances... into being a curvy, vivacious, rebellious teen. In recent years, Cadence has competed in the ICCA's and made it to the second round in the spring of 2003 and in the spring of 2005 we placed 3rd in the Mid-Atlantic Finals. We've been part of numerous concerts each year both for the school and for other organizations - and there's much more to come in the future! We're still searching for the names past members through the years - so if you know anything, pass it on to the webmaster! Thanks!

8/3/05 - So... Summer is slowly coming to a close and school is once again creeping up! Cadence will be entering the year with a burst of activity! We have auditions scheduled for the FIRST WEEK OF CLASSES on WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY from 4-6 o clock in the MARLO ROOM in upstairs f'non. WE BETTER SEE YOU THERE!!!!!!!!!!

5/18/05 - Well folks! School is ended and summer is upon us! Cadence ended the year with a spectacular final concert at Colton Chapel - Thanks to all who came! Our CD is finally with us! More info on how to order one of these little jewels of musical genius is on the way!

3/9/05 - Thanks to the A cappella groups that hosted us at Drexel, we had a great time! Thanks to Emocapella for coming to visit on the 24th of Feb! And we can't wait till our Mini Tour in April! We're still looking for groups to perform with so if you are interested or know someone who is, get them in touch with our Business Manager!

2/23/05 - Our FIRST HOME CONCERT of the semester is Thursday night (the 24th) at 10:00 PM in the Marlo room in Upstairs Farinon featuring Emocapella from GWU!!! We're psyched about it and can't wait to see you there!!!

2/16/05 - Huge news! As announced on our main page - Cadence placed 2nd at the ICCA Mid Atlantic SemiFinals and 3rd overall at the ICCA Mid Atlantic Finals. Toni Ahrens won best soloist for the second time in the SemiFinals for Can't Take and placing 3rd (under Casual Harmony and the Midnight Ramblers) makes Cadence the BEST ALL-FEMALE A CAPPELLA GROUP IN THE MID ATLANTIC!!! Thanks to all the people that drove out to Cornell to support us and Congratulations to all the other groups we competed with - everyone was amazing!

2/1/05 - A whole new year, two whole new members! Congratulations to Michelle Devine and Megan Kaesshaefer!! Keep an eye on Upcoming events for the stuff Cadence is up to this semester and get PSYCHED for February 12th and the Semifinals of the ICCAs at Cornell!

12/5/04 - On December 4th Cadence attended the Mid-Atlantic Divisional ICCAs and we placed 3rd and our very own Toni Ahrens won Best Soloist! We will be advancing to the next round on February 12th! Good luck to all competitors including the Chorduroys and Quintessence! Hip Hip Hooray for Lafayette being the most represented college in the Mid-Atlantic Semi-finals!

11/9/04 - The Evening of A cappella turned out to be an enormous success. Thanks to our guest groups - the Dickinson Syrens, Swathmore's Mixed Company, and the Binghamton Crosbies for making it such a memorable experience.

9/8/04 - CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEW CADENCE MEMBERS! Hannah Schorr and Lindsay Laborda!!!! New profiles will be going up soon of both our new girls and girls that have returned from abroad. Exciting right? Check back for updates!!!

5/7/04 - Thank you to all the people who came to the final Cadence Concert of the year. We're going to miss our graduating seniors - Alison Poole, Sylvia Anserian, Kim Enoch, Alyson Gross and our beloved MD - Lisa Oliveri.
