USGS Northampton County Monitoring Well
Description
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Geological Survey recently begun monitoring water levels in a well in the Martinsburg Shale (USGS 404745075184001 NP 820) in the upper watershed. The well is located about 1/4 mile west (uphill) of our Sobers Run gage at the north end of Jacobsburg State Park. The depth-to-water surface data indicate groundwater elevations near that of the stream.
Status & Data
The well came on-line in May 2001, and water level data are available on the web in real-time at the USGS website
