Outlet Streamgage

Description
The outlet gage is located near the mouth of the watershed, just upstream of 3rd Street in Easton. This is the only one of the streamgages that is mounted adjacent to a dam and broad-crested weir, which allows the stage measurements to be easily converted to flow values.
Status
This gage was the first flow gage installed in the watershed (March 2000), with funding from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Lafayette College. Improvements were made in September 2001 with funding from NSF. The electronics consist of a datalogger with pressure, conductivity, temperature, and turbidity probes which collect data at 10-min intervals.
Data
Streamflow, conductivity, and temperature data are available from March 2000 to present (however, conductivity data from fall 2000 through summer 2001 are inaccurate due to clogging problems). Turbidity data are available from September 2001 to present. Under very high water conditions, be aware of backwater effects from the Delaware River.
