Lafayette College Metzgar Wellfield
Description
The Department of Geology and Environmental Geosciences at Lafayette recently installed three monitoring wells at Metzgar Athletic Fields, 3 miles northwest of campus. The site is within the Epler formation of the Beekmantown Group (limestone and dolomite), and is about 3/4 mile from the Tatamy streamgage. We use the wellfield extensively for field tests in GEOL 210 (Hydrogeology) and CE 424 (Groundwater Hydrology).
Status & Data
We are using a pressure transducer and datalogger to monitor water table dynamics. Data will be available in the near future.
