Nalven Summer Scholarship
Student Field Experience Funds
EXCEL program
One student is supported by the Nalven Memorial Fund to engage in ecological/environmental research with a faculty mentor in the Biology Department during the summer. Interested students should speak with the Department Head.
Several small funds are available to provide biology students with special experiences outside those available in the biology department; e.g.,field station experiences, summer research at other accredited institutions or field laboratories, short-term seminars, summer or interim session courses at field stations, or workshops. Consult with the Department Head for details.
Lafayette's EXCEL Scholars Program enables students to participate in research projects with faculty members under their direct supervision. EXCEL research assistantships are available to full-time students in all departments; they may work part-time during the school year and full-time during the interim and summer. Students who would like to be considered for the EXCEL Scholars Program must be nominated by the faculty members who will serve has their mentors. Proposals are reviewed by the Academic Research Committee of the faculty. Contact Prof. David Veshosky, Director of Research Services (610 330-5424).
The Willis Roberts Hunt Prize
