Suggested B.S. Biology Curriculum Planning Sheet (32 courses)

NOTE: with the exception of Biol. 101/102, the biology courses indicated may be taken in any order you wish. However, attention should be given to the timing of prerequisites for the advanced courses you wish to take, particularly so for the seminar and writing ("W") course requirements. Students interested in research with a faculty mentor should take a lab course from the mentor during the sophomore or junior year (for more information on student research, refer to A Handbook for Research Students, also available in hard copy from the Departmental office).

* Students planning careers in the more quantitative areas of biology are urged to take Mathematics 161/162/186 or 165/166/186.

**In unusual circumstances and with the approval of the Department Head, Psychology 120 may be substituted for Math 186.

*** Note that, if you take Physics 131/132 or Physics 131/133 instead of Physics 111/112, you will miss some course content coverage that is tested on the health professions tests (MCAT, DAT, OAT and GRE).
