Orpheus with Dame Felicity Lott
French and Latin themes permeate this special non-subscription concert by Orpheus, with guest vocalist Dame Felicity Lott, the darling of Covent Garden and Glyndebourne.
Nineteenth-century Paris comes alive with Bizet’s Symphony in C (1855) and Chausson’s delicate settings of Bouchon’s poems, Songs of Love and the Sea (1892), rooted in the world of Impressionism. The American half of the program dances with a Latin beat, with Aaron Copland’s Latin American Sketches and a new work by Cuban-born Tania Leon.
