Skip Wilkins Quintet
Thursday, October 2, 8:00 p.m., FREE (tickets required)

Jazz pianist Skip Wilkins celebrates the release of The Paint-Peeler, new music written for the Skip Wilkins Quintet with “West Coast cool but with updated, East Coast suavity” (Philadelphia Inquirer). Joining him again are Paul Kendall (saxophones), Tom Kozic (guitars), Tony Marino (bass), and Gary Rissmiller (drums).

Enjoy a wide variety of traditional and modern concert band selections from stirring marches to overtures, from classic transcriptions of orchestral literature to original concert band repertoire.

Orchestra

This ensemble specializes in Baroque and Classical period works for string orchestra along with a variety of selections featuring both ensemble literature and features for soloists.

Jazz Ensemble

The big band’s fall concert features a guest appearance by pianist Mulgrew Miller, this season’s Alan and Wendy Pesky Artist-in-Residence.

Concert Choir and Chamber Singers
Saturday, December 6, 8:00 p.m., FREE (tickets required)

Concert Choir is a large ensemble that sings a wide range of literature for men’s, women’s, and mixed-voice choir. Chamber Singers, a small select choir, sings a variety of early music and music from contemporary times.
This year’s Winter Season concert features music for the groups’ January tour of Italy, plus holiday favorites.
Come early to hear the Brass Ensemble play in the lobby, and stay after the concert to sing carols with us!

The spring concert features the world premiere of a new composition by Alan and Wendy Pesky Artist-in-Residence Mulgrew Miller.

Prior to the spring concert, which features band selections often spanning 200 years, student musicians are selected to participate in the Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Band.

Jazz Ensemble

This big band’s repertory ranges from swinging classics by such greats as Duke Ellington to contemporary music from Gordon Goodwin, Matt Harris, Lennie Niehaus and others. The band also features original compositions and arrangements
