The Hillel Society serves Jewish students and faculty by providing a variety of religious, cultural and social events. Programs include local and national speakers, musical groups, brunches, holiday celebrations and weekly Shabbat dinners. Students are invited to participate in the High Holiday Services held at the local Reform Temple and Conservative Synagogue, with transportation arranged by Hillel members.

The Hillel House at 524 Clinton Terrace serves as a meeting place for the group and is used for Shabbat and holiday celebrations. Students may arrange to use the house’s facilities for the observance of kashrut, and are encouraged just to stop by and say hello.

Lafayette Christian Fellowship is an interdenominational evangelical group of students and faculty who are committed to embodying and sharing the truth and love of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

At large group meetings on Wednesday night at 7:30 PM in Interfaith Chapel, Hogg Hall, we gather to worship God through prayer, music and Biblical teaching. In addition, family groups meet each week to learn about God through Bible study, to strengthen relationships and to pray and encourage one another in our Christian walks.

Activities include: retreats, volleyball and softball games, picnics, music concerts, guest speakers and conferences.

Muslim students at Lafayette, though few, maintain the traditionsof their faith through the activities of the Muslim Student Association.

There is a Muslim Prayer room in Hogg Hall where daily prayers may be held. Other worship opportunities will be announced.

The M.S.A. invites Muslim students to share in their activities and encourages non-Muslims to visit their prayer meetings and learn about Islam.

The Newman Association is a Catholic organization. It embraces ecumenically and inclusively every person in the Lafayette community in its striving to assist students, faculty, and staff to integrate their interior and intellectual lives with religious faith and values.

Holy Mass is celebrated in Colton Chapel each Sunday during the semester at 11:30 AM and on Holy Days at noon. The Newman Chaplain provides for the reception of the Sacraments, retreats, and conversation about personal concerns, great and small. The Newman House, located at 119 McCartney St., is the association’s center for its frequent meetings and multiple social activities. Regular meetings are held at 9:00 pm on Mondays at the Newman House.
