"Thank you so much for putting together such an informative conference on the tragedy in Darfur.  Benjamin was honest and articulate and touched my heart.  Including actual curricula and time to work with it and other professionals was priceless.  Add to this a great free lunch and snacks! Great, great day."

"Please pass along to everyone who worked so hard organizing Monday’s conference [on Darfur] that I found it to be one of the most informative and helpful conferences that I’ve been to in a long time.  I walked away with a better understanding of the genocides in the Sudan and ways that I can impart the information to my students.  I look forward to being able to attend another informative conference at Lafayette in the future."

"Outstanding conference today [on Darfur].  Well balanced, well paced re. time & content, well organized, very relevant to instruction in the classroom. Actually one of the best I've been to in my career - the day flew by.  Hopefully Lafayette will continue this event on an annual basis."

"When I first heard of Mr. Kristof's impending visit to Lafayette, my expectations for his lecture were indeed high, given his laudable reputation. What Mr. Kristof delivered, however, went beyond what I could have ever imagined. His ability to simultaneously report, connect, and empower made a significant positive impact on our student body. Later that night, I already had students approaching me with comments about how Kristof opened their minds to what could be accomplished, even when certain events seem so far removed from their own individual control."

“Kudos!  The [Visions of the Energy Future] conference was well organized, had excellent, prominent, knowledgeable speakers on a subject that is relevant, timely and crucial to our world.  I hope that these forums will continue in the future.”

"I hope the Public Policy major had a great first year at Lafayette; I wish it had been an option when I was there. I am actually applying this fall to MPP programs at George Washington and George Mason, and my courses with you will be great experience to take with me into graduate study.

"Best wishes for the upcoming academic year!"

“I’m also delighted to see that Lafayette has started a Policy Studies Program – it makes me want to be an undergraduate all over again. Lafayette appears to be on the cutting edge of preparing people to deal with international challenges in this new century.”

"I just had the occasion to view the on-line replay of your election night broadcast. I was blown away by the quality of the effort, its seriousness of purpose, the high level of political insight, the fine production values of the program, and the scope of the presentation. I thought the students did a truly wonderful job addressing national issues, but never losing site of the importance of local concerns. I thought your student journalists did an especially superb job contextualizing the election from the point of view of the young voter. It was particularly interesting listening to Lafayette students throughout the broadcast express their opinions and concerns, or for that matter, whether or not they feel the political process speaks to them at all. I can only imagine the preparation that went into this project, and the amount of learning that took place. Perhaps most importantly, the students’ obvious enjoyment and pride came jumping off the screen. Congratulations to all."

"This [the election night broadcast] is a great example of extended student-centered learning, which ought to be a hallmark for Lafayette."

"Graduates in all careers must understand that everything they will do is bound by a complex web of federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and by treaties among nations.  The major is a perfect approach to ensuring that students are prepared to thrive in that demanding environment."

"Globalization is integrating economics and societies.  Students need to possess integrated skills, not segmented skills for whatever they choose to do.  The marketplace is looking for individuals who possess multidisciplinary skills and insights.  This program supports and typifies this new reality and marketplace demand.  Lafayette, Mark, and the core group of alumni who have given support to this effort deserve a great deal of credit for their contemporary leadership. Now the students have the primary opportunity and responsibility to demonstrate its value."

"The material I've been working with closely aligns with the material I've covered in your classes.  Regulations such as Sarb-Ox..."

"I saw the report on the new program at Lafayette and I couldn't contain my excitement the program is timely and pertinent.   I myself graduated last year from the Heinz School, CMU with a Masters in Public Policy and Management, after which I worked with my country's mission to the United Nations.  I just wanted to wish you well, and also perhaps mention that I hope you also have a strong infusion where ever possible in your course material over 4 years on developing nations policy issues and questions ― beyond foreign aid.  I found this lack of proper nuanced discussion missing and very frustrating with policy training in the US.  Especially at a time when increased knowledge of Africa/Asia is needed as the US seeks more energy sources and fewer safe havens for "terrorists."

"I graduated from Lafayette in 1999 and then went on to get my MPP at the Harris School at University of Chicago in 2003.  I have been working in education policy ever since and am thrilled to see Lafayette embrace this field.  Please know I am willing to help with the development of the program in any way.  Congratulations!"

"Through my experiences in your existent policy courses, I know this Program will be a great success.  I've recently started my job here at Merrill, where I'm consistently staying updated with government policies affecting the Finance industry and more closely, the Hedge Fund industry.  I hope students take advantage of this experience and use it to their benefit; the quantitative and qualitative skills I learned in each of your classes were two of the most significant parts of my education at Lafayette."
