Possibly
inspired by a visit to the Grotto of the Redemption, William Notzke began his
own rock garden on the grounds of his farm.
Throughout the 1930s, visitors to the Jubilee Dairy, a magnificent
tile-and-glass construction, could admire the fountain and terraced garden
while they enjoyed their ice cream.
Built in 1963 and dedicated to his wife, Ethel, this concrete entryway, densely studded with white and rose quartz, was one of Notzke’s last constructions at the site.
