LAFAYETTE INTERCULTURAL NETWORKING COUNCIL

Vision
To educate the Lafayette community on issues dealing with diversity and social justice; to broaden cultural awareness and understanding and promote unity; and to foster an inclusive environment that advocates for cultural sensitivity, mutual respect, and personal growth.

Mission Statement
To promote the development of cross-cultural and intercultural exchange by engaging in meaningful dialogue, and encourage strong collaborative efforts among student groups and organizations, administration offices, and faculty/academic departments

LINC promotes group collaboration on issues of diversity. The group recognizes that potentially fruitful collaborations may also occur between individual students, and between students and faculty members, administrators, alumni, or members of the Easton community.

Goals
To allocate funding for collaborative diversity programs with the requirement of multiple organizational participation and co-sponsorship.

To maintain a forum for organizations to discuss and develop initiatives that will lead to stronger partnerships among student organizations on campus.

To provide an intellectual forum for organizations to strengthen cross-cultural and intercultural relations by voicing multiple perspectives and engaging in meaningful dialogue.

To provide a medium for diverse organizations to discuss issues of mutual concern without barriers, and respond to the presenting issues and emotional needs of students affected.

To establish a base for organizations and students to actively support each other's programs and initiatives and continue to further strengthen their commitment to community.

Activities
Coordinate, at minimum, two campus-wide events per academic year.

Coordinate and host an annual retreat to encourage the formation of
allies and unity, and to participate in leadership development aimed
at increasing organization and intercultural competencies.

Co-sponsor and support various events and programs
presented by the LINC General Council.
