def. Gateway Ambassador - role model and spokesperson for the Gateway Program through various activities (see below for more information )
def. Gateway Career Ambassador - student assistant who holds weekly office hours to provide support and general career information to peers (see below for more information )
Meet our 2008-2009 Ambassadors

GA Responsibilities:
- Participating in formal presentations showcasing the Gateway Program at first year group meetings, Family Weekend sessions, networking events, Lafayette's Career Fair, Leopard Career Connections Day, alumni dinner panels, campus workshops and programs.
- Assisting Career Services in developing strategies to raise student participation in Gateway.
- Offering feedback on programs and events to assist in programming efforts.
- Publicizing Gateway events as needed.
- Attending a required training session to provide guidance and support for programs and events
- Participating in a minimum of 2 events/semester
GA Rewards:
- Gaining early admission to events to meet alumni and recruiters, if interested.
- Receiving nametags with ‘Gateway Ambassador’ recognition.
- Receiving Gateway Ambassador business cards.
All Gateway Ambassadors must first be nominated by a member of the Career Services staff. If you are interested in joining the team please contact your individual Gateway counselor. For all other inquiries contact Alana Gallo at galloa@lafayette.edu.
GCA Responsibilities:
- Offering guidance on the Job Vault, Vault Library.
- Assisting with resume/cover letter construction.
- Providing guidance with internships and externships.
- Utilizing web and career library resources.
GCA Rewards:
- Paid position
- Gain a greater understanding of career resources and opportunities
- Recognized for leadership, professionalism and career knowledge
A Gateway Career Ambassador must first serve as a Gateway Ambassador and must be nominated and selected by a member of the Career Services staff.
