Emergencies

During working hours:
The Health Center is equipped to handle many types of acute medical problems while the physicians are available (9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday). However, if there is a very serious problem or life-threatening problem, please call Public Safety (ext. 5333) and request an ambulance. You may also dial 911 for an ambulance. However, notifying Public Safety works best for they can efficiently direct the emergency squad to your location and notify the College Physician.

After working hours:
Public Security serves as the Health Center's answering service after normal hours. If an urgent or serious problem develops, please call ext. 5333. A dispatcher is on duty 24 hours a day every day of the year. They can contact the college physician and arrange proper transportation to Easton Hospital.

Sexual Assault:
Lafayette College has two Sexual Assault Counselor Educators available. They can be reached directly by paging them at 610/920-3010. They can also be reached by calling Public Safety (ext. 5330) or the Bailey Health Center (ext. 5001). The SACE coordinator will meet with you; help advise you about important decisions and stay with you until proper care has been completed.
